What Page Shield does
Page Shield is a Chrome extension that blocks unwanted redirects, auto-opened tabs, and intrusive ads in your browser.
What Page Shield accesses
Page Shield uses browser permissions to inspect page behavior that may trigger redirects or popup tabs, apply rules that block known ad network requests, and store settings, activity history, allow-lists, temporary exceptions, and custom blocked element selectors.
Data collection
Page Shield does not sell personal data. The current version does not transmit browsing history, page contents, account information, financial information, health information, authentication credentials, or personal communications to a remote server. It does not include analytics, advertising SDKs, remote code execution, or third-party tracking scripts.
Data storage
- Extension settings and protection toggles
- Trusted sites and allowed links
- Temporary site pauses and link allowances
- Recent activity counts and blocked-event summaries
- Custom selectors learned from the right-click missed-ad action
